From Us to You
A message to our students, parents & guardians
The final day of the academic year 2019-2020 is upon us and what a year your children have had. This will be a year that will go down in history and a year we will never forgot!
To all the parents/guardians
You have had your children home for more time now than you would if they were on summer holidays. You have protected, nourished, educated, supported and entertained your children during these uncertain times. You have more than likely experienced emotions for yourself and your family that you never knew existed, never mind experienced before. As difficult as this time has been, your child has been so fortunate to have had the one-to-one experience they can’t always get in their classrooms over the past three months. We have no doubt that the commitment, dedication and all round positivity you gave to your child’s education during this time will be a major stepping stone for them as they progress into their next academic year. They have had to adapt to a new learning environment. This is something they should be proud of. Parents, you have been amazing! You have achieved something no other parent ever has! You have faced this time unable to take your child or children anywhere, no parks, play centres, cinemas, holidays to break up the boredom, no day trips, no family to help (with the exception of a few). On top of that you have juggled information overload from the internet and emotional ups and downs of not being able to see loved ones. This is a time to be proud of yourselves and we sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support this year.
To the amazing students of St. Daigh’s National School.
We are so incredibly proud of all of you. You have worked so hard this year and especially since our school closed on March 12. Each week we asked you to try your best and that’s exactly what you all did! You should give yourselves a huge pat the back and be proud of how far you have come. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your commitment and hard work throughout the entire year. We have enjoyed watching you all grow and progress and we hope you will take away many happy memories from this year in school. We can’t wait to see you all back at school on August 27th, Please God. We wish you all a wonderful and well deserved summer holiday. Continue to enjoy every moment with your families and make as many happy memories together as you can. Continue to be great helpers over the summer for your parents. Get plenty of fresh air and enjoy and explore the outdoors as much as you can. Remember to keep safe, by washing your hands and keeping your distance when needed. Stay safe, be kind and look after one another.
Goodbye for now and we will see you all very soon.
