Ciarán Mc Geough Cup 2023
This year seen another successful tournament in memory of past pupil Ciarán McGeough. It is held annually in St. Daigh's to commemorate Ciarán and his passion for the game of soccer.
Pupils from 3rd - 6th class are placed in teams. This tournament brings great excitement to the school each year and it is a competition enjoyed by all. It is particularly special as it allows the students and staff of St. Daigh's NS to reflect and remember Ciarán in this special way.
Ciarán was a fun loving, enthusiastic and artistic pupil. He was a sports enthusiast from before he came to St. Daigh's. His love of soccer was immense and he loved his soccer training sessions. Ciarán was taken from this world far too young at just 7 years of age. He left a void in his family and school community.
This year's tournament was no exception when it came to talent shining through. The final brought fever pitch excitement. Congratulations to all participants!
We look forward to another exciting tournament next year.
