We will not be using the robes and cinctures this year. There will be no choir, but we will have a soloist.
Please email Sandra, with your sponsor’s name and your chosen confirmation name as soon as possible. firstname.lastname@example.org
There will be no servers or gift bearers. We will distribute readings prior to the ceremony to be practised.
We have been in contact with photographer Lou Metzger and videographer Kevin Metzger who are provisionally booked for the day.
We need to know how many of you require a family photo or a photo with Fr Martin. It is unlikely that there will be a group photo. Please let Sandra know by email what your wishes are in respect of the photos/video.
The church currently has reduced capacity due to social distancing. At the moment the maximum number of people is 50 however we hope and expect that this number will be increased.
N. B. We need to do some work to prepare for Confirmation. We have uploaded 3 chapters from “Grow In Love” to the website which outline what you need to know in respect of the The Holy Spirit, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, The Fruits of The Holy Spirit and the Liturgy of Confirmation (what actually happens during the Mass for Confirmation). You may be questioned on these at Confirmation.
**We suggest that: On the week beginning 13th July, read Theme 10: Confirmation (The Holy Spirit) Lesson 1 The Power of the Holy Spirit On the week beginning 20th July, read Theme 10: Confirmation (The Holy Spirit) Lesson 2. The Fruits of the Holy Spirit. On the week beginning 27th July, read Theme 10: Confirmation (The Holy Spirit) Lesson 3. The Liturgy of Confirmation.
After each chapter and by Friday of each week please email us with a sample of work based on the chapter. This could be in the form of art/picture of the gifts/fruits etc. In class I use the mnemonic to remember the gifts “why r u constantly kidding round with Aaron” (wisdom, right judgement, understanding, courage, knowledge, reverence, wonder & awe) At the practice on the 6th August we will go through the booklet and practice the prayers.
For now, to recap, please send Sandra the following as soon as possible ·Sponsor’s name ·Confirmation Name ·Your wishes re: photo/video ·Your work on the lessons in “Grow In Love” on Fridays when completed

Monday 23rd March 2020
Dear parents/guardians We hope this letter finds you well. As has been well documented we are living in unprecedented times. The main priority at this time is to stay well and practise the advice given to us by the HSE and government: social distancing, hand washing, sneezing/coughing into a tissue/elbow etc. St Daigh’s N S is very aware of the anxiety of parents/guardian in respect of your child’s education. We have been and will continue to communicate class workvia the St Daigh’s N S website. Please visit the website for the latest uploaded plan of work. We ask you to try to get some work covered every day, Monday to Friday. In this way the various skills covered in school will be practised and kept up to speed. During this coming week we will open the school to give you an opportunity to collect your child’s books and accessories. We have drawn up a timetable for parents/guardians to visit the school to collect the books. It is important that you adhere to your allotted time period. Staggering the collection times will help support the practice of social distancing and reduce the risk of infection.
It is important to say that we understand if you choose not to collect the books. When arriving at the school, please go directly to your child’s/children’s room(s), pick up the books and leave promptly. Please do not bring other persons with you. Please refrain from touching surfaces.
All of the outside doors will be open so enter through the door nearest your child’s room. Some of the children’s books are packed into bags while other are in the box which you can take home with you. (NB The school will not open for collection of books in the event of the Government imposing a total lock down on or before Wednesday.)

*St Daigh’s N S has launched a new website and it is full of information, photos, school policies etc. The address of this website is stdaighs.com We invite you to visit the website.
*This Friday, as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, we are celebrating Lá Glas sa Scoil. Children are asked to wear something green to school. Donations are welcome and will be given to the Daffodil Day organisation.
*Covid 19 Virus: St Daigh’s N S is monitoring the situation and will notify you of any information which is received from the HSE and Department of Education and Skills with regard to school closures as soon as we get it. We ask all parents/guardians to ensure that hand washing is prioritised and carried out thoroughly by your children. Make sure to keep a clean towel in your child’s bag and include a small bottle of hand sanitiser if you have one. We have a limited supply of hand sanitiser in school. In the event of your child showing any symptoms of illness it would be prudent to keep your child at home.
