To all Parents/Guardians:
For the month of September all SET’s will be supporting classes, teachers and students with class work, mostly through 1-to-1 withdrawal and some small groups withdrawn from class. This time is needed to settle children back into school and back into a routine. Some children will need that little bit of extra support to complete class work. Hopefully, we will be able to start writing up Support Plans and targets at the beginning of October. We will be in contact with all parents/guardians of children, that will be receiving support from us, to discuss these plans. If any of these arrangements are changed, we will endeavour to keep you informed. Thanks Grainne Madden, Trudie Conlan & Ciana Hughes |
The SET (Special Education Teachers) are available to the parents of children that attend sessions with them. Below you will find the email addresses for each of these teachers. If you would like guidance or advice about the needs of your child please get in contact with your respective teacher by email.

SEN Resources
We know that there are lots of resources online but sometimes this can be confusing. We have decided to put together some practical activities and games to play that are educational as well as fun. We will keep uploading more games and activities as the weeks go on, so make sure you check back weekly.

Sounds and Stories
There is a story for each sound. If the story is too difficult for your child to read themselves, read it with them and ask them to listen out for words that have that sound. Look through the file below 'Introduction and Activity Ideas' so that you have a good overview before starting the weeks, or individual sounds.

As part of the new Junior Cycle Program presentations play a large part of the marking system. So if the older children have i.e. 4th -6th have access to a computer or laptop at home with PowerPoint it would be a good help to them to develop their skills in making a PowerPoint. e.g. Adding slides; copying and pasting pictures; adding special effects between slides etc. |
